Bail denied to fake PA to CS

JAMMU, June 29: City Judge Jammu Prem Sagar today rejected the bail application of Amit Bhardwaj, who was arrested for impersonating as PA to the Chief Secretary.
According to the Crime Branch, accused Ashwani Bhardwaj contacted Director Tourism, Kashmir and claimed to be an officer of personal section of Chief Secretary’s office and asked him to direct the Assistant Director Tourism, Leh to contact on his Mobile No 9797578686.
Accordingly Assistant Director Tourism, Leh contacted the accused, who asked for depositing Rs 10,000 in his account in SBI on the plea that some of his relatives are presently stuck in Leh and are in severe need of money.
Subsequently the Assistant Director Tourism, Leh transferred an amount of Rs 10,000 in the given account. Later, it came to fore that there was no such official in the personal section of Chief Secretary.
After hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer for the State, the City Judge observed, “applicant has a history of duping people in the past and he adopts different modus operandi every time to befool the people and thereby commits fraud on them”, adding “the investigation of the case is going on and statements of material witnesses are yet to be recorded”.
Accordingly, court rejected the bail application.
