While divulging details, the family member said, last week they visited subdistrict hospital Sopore for a check-up.. “We were referred to Trauma hospital Pattan as SDH Sopore is dedicated to COVID care,” he said. From there, he added, they were referred to Primary Health Centre Tarzoo for surgery. The doctors there kept on delaying the surgery for unknown reasons,” he said.
“Three days prior to death, the mother was administered injection at the PHC. After the injection her condition deteriorated. We kept pleading for a survey, but doctors did not pay any heed,” a family member said.
He added they were forced to approach a private hospital for delivery where doctors informed them that the child had died before three days. “Timely surgery would have saved our child,” he said.
The family member said the doctors at PHC did not attend the patients despite repeated pleas from the family. “We knocked at the door repeatedly but doctor did not open it,” he said, adding this negligence from the doctor caused the death of the baby.
