Manohar demands installation of oxygen plant at SDH

JAMMU, May 27: Former minister and president DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today demanded installation of oxygen plant at Sub District Hospital, Billawar.
In a letter written to the LG, the DCC president requested him to pass the order for immediate setting up of Oxygen generation plant at Sub District Hospital, Billawar. While speaking he said, his party welcomes the Govt order for setting/installation of Oxygen generation plants at 15 different hospitals vide order No DHSJ/PLG/WB-Era/2021-22/440-460, Dt 24-05-21 during present time of COVID pandemic, but showed disappointment on exclusion of Billawar Sub District Hospital in the list.
He further said that in the wake of Corona Virus pandemic outbreak and daily rising cases in the area, Billawar is in dire need of medical oxygen and setting up of oxygen generation plant at Billawar SDH will ensure round the clock availability of life saving oxygen gas which in turn will save lives of many critical patients.
Sharma said people of adjoining areas of Lohai Malhar, Ramkote, Gurha Kalyal, Mahanpur, Macheddi, Duggani , part of Udhampur district also approach Billawar SDH for any medical emergency and Sub District Hospital Billawar caters population of around 2 lacs of Billawar and adjoining mentioned areas. In addition setting up of Oxygen generation plant at Billawar will reduce the load on District hospital Kathua and patients in dire need of oxygen need not to run to Kathua. Billawar is about 80 km away from district headquarters and mainly comprises of hilly mountainous terrain which also adds to woes during any emergency.
He further request to look into matter on urgent basis and issue order for setting up of Oxygen generation glant at SDH Billawar on war footing basis and further requested to boost up vaccination drive in rural areas and vaccines to be provided in bulk in every PHC, dispensaries, CHC of the districts and the division.
