Awareness camp on PMMVY organized

JAMMU, Nov 2: An awareness camp on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana (PMMVY) was organized today at Chakroi, RS Pura.
During the camp, which was well attended by people of the area especially women including pregnant, nursing and others as well as adolescent girls, were educated about the scheme of Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, which is in operation to provide benefit to pregnant women and nursing mothers.
In the programme, Talat Kousar, ACDPO highlighted the need of the scheme for women. Dr Madhu Burma, SLMT, as a resource person gave stressed on early registration of pregnant women in the AWC as well as in the health institution to get benefits.
She also highlighted other conditions to be fulfilled by them to get benefit under the scheme as getting themselves immunized, undergoing health check-ups, getting conducted their delivery at health institutions only,getting their newborn registered and immunized immediately after birth and so on.
Chanchal and Shabnam Chouhan, Supervisors and Bandhana Sharma, Health and Nutrition Mobilizer, also spoke about the issue at length.
