JAMMU, Nov 17: An awareness camp on road safety was organized today by Road Safety Champions (Team RSC) at KN Filling Station, Bantalab Road, Jammu.
Ravinder Bhat (founder of Road Safety Champions) along with his team, managers of KN Filling Station– Mohan and Narvesh, SHO Domana Chanchal Singh and Deepak Bharti (Incharge, police post Chinore) were present on the occasion.
During the camp, Ravinder Bhat and his team members interacted with the drivers and owners of two-wheelers and four-wheelers and educated them about road safety techniques and rules to be adopted while driving on roads. “Jeevan Bachaiye, Road Safety Apnaiye”, a song created by Ravinder Bhat was also played in the camp for making the event more effective.
Bhat, during his speech, made the public aware of the figures of the injured and dead in road accidents. He said due to road accidents in India, around 4.75 lakh get injured/handicapped in a year i.e. around 1290 in a day and around 3-5 crore in the world.
Pamphlets of Road Safety were also distributed among the road users and commuters to acquaint them about new amendments of MVL 2019 which has come into force on September 1, 2019. On the occasion, Bhat also distributed T-shirts and appreciation certificates to the dignitaries.
SHO Domana also interacted with the public and educated them about road safety rules and regulations. Besides, students of Shining Star School, Muthi (who are members of Team RSC) played a vital role in awakening the public during the camp.
