JAMMU, May 5: ASKPC in a meeting held here today expressed strong resentment against the Advertisement Notice No.CRPD/CR/2016-1 7/01 issued by State Bank of India wherein it has been made mandatory for the candidates that they must be proficient in Urdu language.
Advocate Ravinder Raina, president ASKPC termed it as great human right violation wherein only two regions of the State will get benefit and ignoring the internally displaced Kashmiri Pandits who are in exile in their own country for last 27 years as they cannot apply for these posts because they do not know the official language and also the candidates of Jammu region do not know the official language.
It is the total deviation of the recruitment policy as laid down by the State Bank of India.
The meeting demanded that SBI should change the notification immediately and issue a fresh notification where in all the aspirants of the State can apply. Further Mr Raina appealed to the Finance Minister to look into the matter and direct the SBI authorities to rescind the notification and issue a new one wherein every candidate of the State is able to apply for the post in SBI. Mr Raina further added that SBI is a nationalized bank and they do the banking in English or Hindi language and there is no purpose of knowing regional language.
