Rajouri, May 5: Underlining the commitment of the Government for socio-economic development of rural pockets, Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Choudhary Abdul Ghani Kohli said remote belts are getting focused attention and work on the road map to upgrade infrastructure in these belts is going on at fast pace.
He said exemplary development initiatives have been taken up and focused attention is being paid to equip these areas with all required basic infrastructure.
He was addressing a large public gathering at Dhangri and Seva Gheri, Rajouri.
The Minister was accompanied by Vice-Chairperson Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta during his visit.
The Minister while addressing the gathering asked the people to come forward and avail the maximum benefits of the various welfare schemes and programmes being undertaken by the Government.
Referring to “Beti Bachaoo Beti Padhao”, Kohli underscored the need for greater awareness among the masses about the scheme and the requirements needed to be fulfilled to avail the maximum benefits. He urged all sections of the society to undertake rigorous door to door campaign to explain the people about the danger of the female foeticide.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Mumtaz Choudhary, Assistant Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Noor Alam, Executive Engineer, PDD, PHE besides sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
