JAMMU, May 13: God only shall save the Kashmiri hapless Society living in exile with Relief & Rehabilitation Department and the CAPD having totally neglected them and failed to provide them the basic necessity i .e. food and constrained them to feel starvation.
This was stated by president ASKPC, Ravinder Raina in a statement issued here today while expressing his total dismay over the attitude of the Government towards the exiled Pandits who he said for the first time in 27 years of turmoil were denied ration by BJP which is ruling at State as well as at Centre.
Raina said ASKPC time and again took up the matter with the concerned agencies and apprised them about the difficulties being faced by the migrant relief holders in absence of availability of ration for last three months, but the authorities appear having turned totally deaf and dumb. People living in exile for last 27 years get monthly ration under Security Expenditure borne by Central Government and one fails to understand under which rules the concession can be abandoned in the present day scenario. ASKPC delegation met Relief Commissioner (M), Jammu also in this regard but it is now for four months that ration to the most deserved people people is not supplied and in this most unfair weather starving people have fallen sick and some are virtually dying.
ASKPC has made an appeal to Chief Minister to look into the matter personally and urgently get necessary orders released for Supply of ration to the migrant relief holders. It is also requested that supply of ration under rules to APL Category of Migrants be also issued.
Matter being of utmost concern, ASKPC is confident that Chief Minister shall attach priority to the problem and not only come to the rescue of starving souls but also prevent such souls to come on roads to agitate.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president Kundan Kashmiri has also urged the Government to release the ration of last three months to migrants and asked it not to test the patience of the hapless people who have been made virtually beggars by the wrong policies of successive State and Central Government.
Kashmir, demanded that Pandits be settled at a single place in Valley with institutional and constitutional guarantees and free flow of Indian Constitution so that they can lead a respected and dignified life in their homeland.
