JAMMU, July 22: Under Operation Sadbhavana, an Educational-cum-Motivational tour named ‘Karwan-E-Aman’ for the Gujjar and Bakerwal students from far flung areas of Poonch district, was flagged off by Choudhary Basher Ahmed Naz, the Vice-Chairman of Gujjar and Bakerwal Welfare Board at Daraba today.
The tour comprising 26 students and two teachers has been organized by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo), for the duration of ten days from July 22 to July 30 to Mumbai and Pune.
The aim of the tour is to showcase the development of the country to the youth from the remote and far flung areas, as also to provide them an opportunity to visit important places of interest and to interact with the people of those regions and also eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon.
During the tour, students will get an opportunity to visit places of interest like: the Gateway of India, Hotel Taj, Boriveli National Park, Ajanta Elora Caves, Kaneri Hills, INS Vikrant Museum, Planetarium, Sea Aquarium, Juhu Beach and Bombay University at Mumbai. They will also get an opportunity to interact with Governor of Maharashtra, film stars and youth of the region settled in Mumbai. The tour will also be visiting the famous city Pune and visit the Ordinance Factory Kirkee, Symbosis College, National Defence Academy, Pune Agriculture College and TATA Motors.
The Commander, 6 Sector, Rashtriya Rifles, who was guest of honour at the flagging off ceremony, interacted with the participants of the tour and asked them to spread the message of peace.
The young students were thrilled on getting opportunity to go on this tour.
