Army organises interactive meet, medical camp at Pargwal

JAMMU, July 6:  Army organised a  joint civil-military interaction and co-operation meeting and a medical camp in the border village of Pargwal, the other day.
The progarmme was inaugurated jointly by Commander of Chenab Brigade along with Dr Krishan Lal, MLA Khour and Rajeev Sharma, MLA Akhnoor.  It was attended by  Devinder Pal, SDM Khour, Sunaina Mehta, SDM Akhnoor,  Arun Gupta, SP (Rural) Jammu and RC Puri, Director Red Cross Society, Jammu along with village Sarpanch of  Pargwal. The interaction envisaged to acquaint the civil administration on the civil–military co-operation in border security and also to make them aware of various safety measures during cross border firing.
A Medical camp was also organised by the Army with the assistance from State Health Department aimed at addressing the medical needs of the locals residing in remote and border areas of Pargwal on this occasion. Doctors including specialists from the Army as well as State Health Department rendered free medical advice, carried out medical checkup and distributed medicines among the needy patients of this border belt.
In addition, Indian Red Cross Society also contributed by setting up an awareness camp during the function in which the younger generation and school children of the area were imparted first aid training.
