JAMMU, Dec 4: Border Area Kisan Committee (BAKC) here today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Ravi Singh Bhau, BAKC president where the issue of rent from the authorities was discussed.
Speakers in the meeting demanded that the rent due to the farmers from April, 2014 to till date has not being paid by the offices of Tehsildar Khour and Deputy Commissioner Jammu.
The issue of rent for the land under the occupation of army was also discussed.
The speakers also said that during Kargil war more than 3200 kanal of land in Patwar Halqa Chhani Dewanoo and village Hamirpur Kona was occupied by army but no rent for that has been paid to the owners of that land so far.
Romesh Singh Bhau, Committee general secretary; Prem Singh Chib, Prem Pal Singh, Mangat Singh Manhas, Ajmer Singh, Ranbir Singh Bhau, Jagmohan Singh, Surinder Singh, Jagdish Raj, Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Kulbir Singh and Dayal Singh were also present in the meeting.
