Army Engg martyred in Galwan

NASHIK, June 25: An Engineer of Indian Army from the Nimgol village of the district has been martyred while trying to save a soldier from being swept away in a river at Galwan valley on Indo-China border.
According to information received here today, the martyred soldier, Sachin Vikram More, resident of Nimgol village in Malegaon tehsil of the district, was serving as an engineer in the Army for last 17 years and was deployed at Indo-China border for last one year.
While both the countries are engaged in construction of road at Galwan valley on Indo-China border amidst tense situation in last few days, the Indian Army has started the construction of bridge.
While the work was in progress, three soldiers were swept away by the strong currents of the river.
On noticing the incident, More jumped into the river in an attempt to save the solider but one of them was martyred, after he fell on a rock in the river, military officials told his family. Martyr Sachin’s body will arrive at Pune by night and from there, it will be taken to Nashik.
And from Nashik, it will be brought to Nimgole in Malegaon taluka for last rites on Saturday morning, they added. (UNI)
