Srinagar, Dec 28: An army driver was arrested by police after a vehicle he was driving hit a biker in Bemina area of city outskirts here today.
An army vehicle bearing registration number 14d194474 plying along Bypass in Bemina hit a young biker, injuring him critically. The injured boy, whose name could not be ascertained was immediately rushed to hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
Soon after the incident, locals staged a protest and demanded arrest of the driver. The police immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the driver namely Sumit Kumar of 128ASC regiment. Police also seized the army vehicle and a case has been registered in this regard.
