JAMMU, Jan 7: The Army has denied involvement of their two jawans from R R Unit located in Gursai area of Mendhar with the two girls found travelling in Tata Sumo and detained by Police at Manjakote in Rajouri last evening.
A Defence spokesman claimed that Naik Dulla Singh and Sep Sukhjeet Singh of RR Unit were proceeding on leave towards Jammu on January 6. The two girls hailing from Karnah Prat in Gursai travelling in the same Tata Sumo had no association with the jawans and they were going to Rajouri market for some purchases. The girls’ statement was also recorded and after the police was satisfied, the jawans were allowed to move towards Jammu. The spokesman denied involvement of jawans with the girls.
