Arms, explosives seized in Reasi

JAMMU, July 20: Army and police today destroyed a hideout of the militants at higher reaches of Lapridhar near village Hariwala in Arnas area of Reasi district.
On a tip off, a joint team of 61 Rashtriya Rifles and police conducted searches in Lapridhar and detected a consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives. The consignment, which had been concealed in a rock cave inside the dense forests, was seized after a lot of efforts by the security personnel, official sources said.
Recoveries made from the cave hideout included three Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGLs), one magazine of AK-47 rifle, three Chinese grenades, two pistol magazines, four cartridges of 14.7mm, 47 cartridges of 7.62mm, 43 cartridges 7.62mm of AK-47, 41 cartridges of 7.62mm sniper, one cartridge 7.62mm Rimless, 26 cartridges 9mm Ball and one detonators No. 27.
Army and police conducted searches in the area. However, no arrests were made from the spot.
