Srinagar May 26: Security forces today busted two militant hideouts in North Kashmir and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.
A Defence spokesman said here that Army and Police today busted an underground militant hideout in Sungal Nar area of Lolab forest of Kupwara District and recovered large haul of arms, ammunition and other war like stores.
“Based on specific intelligence regarding a hideout in the forested area of Sungal Nar of Lolab of District Kupwara, a joint operation was launched by the RR unit and JK Police today at about 9 a.m. During the searches, an underground hideout of arms and ammunition was unearthed, in which one AK 47 along with three magazine and 40 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, one RPG along with three rounds of ammunition, one UBGL along with eight rounds of ammunition, two Chinese hand grenades, one IED circuit and one Radio set, were recovered”, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that Army recovered a rusted AK 47 Rifle along with a magazine and 26 rounds of ammunition from Samsu Nar area in Machhil Sector of district Kupwara this morning.
