Government of India issued a postal stamp on Bharat Ratan Sachin Tendulkar when he announced his retirement from international cricket last month but there are nine countries in the world who have issued postal stamp on this great cricketer long back.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) decided to bring out a postal stamp, with retiring great Sachin Tendulkar’s photo, at the start of his landmark 200th and final Test match at the Wankhede Stadium. It is a great honour for Tendulkar. He deserves the best. But certainly feels bad for other Indian Great cricketers as they are yet to be honoured by India Post.
It is very unfortunate on part of India Post in not issuing philatelic material/stamps on Indian players like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and heroes of 1984 world cup and 2011 world cup. It is appealed to India Post to issue stamps for all the deserving Heroes of Cricket which have been discussed above.
