Sir,
In the present times State pensioners are badly hit by the sky rocketing prices of the essentials. It has become hard for them to meet the both ends of life and line a comfortable and peaceful existence. In their advanced age they are fercing multiple problems. With the meagre income they get as pension cannot suffice their needs in old age. They have time and again voiced their problems before the Govt but till todate nothing has been done with regard to their grievances. Their demand is increase in the medical allowance at least Rs 1000 p.m. Increase in the dearness allowance on the Central pattern. Other benefits as are given by the Central Govt. to their pensioners time to time, same should also apply to State pensioners.
Sixth Pay Commission arears are still lying with the Govt and it is urgent demand of the pensioners to release them in one go for the welfare of the senior citizens of the State. These people have given their golden period of life in the service of the State and in the fag end of their life they need every kind of encouragement from the Govt. Despite assurances from the Govt. pensioners are left high and dry-without any further delay the State Govt should fulfill all demands of State pensioners as early as possible keeping in view present inflation of consuming articles.
Yours etc….
S. N. Raina,
