AOI delegation calls on PCB officers

JAMMU, May 19: A delegation of Association of Industries, Gangyal led by its president Rajesh Jain held a meeting with the Chairperson, Pollution Control Board, Neelu Gera here today.
Secretary Ramesh Kumar and Regional Director, Sat Pal also attended the meeting. The delegation apprised the chairperson of some problems being faced by the industrialists. They extended gratitude Board officers for providing auto renewal of consent to operate to the units engaged in manufacturing of green category items and requested her that same facility be provided to the other categories also.
The delegation also requested that in the absence of authorized hazardous waste lifter the process of granted CTO should not be stopped of which chairpersons agreed and assured that the process shall not be stopped for this reason. The delegation also requested that CTE and CTO for the units which have 30th June 2022 as the last date for getting PMT to avoid the retrieval for their land by the Govt be expeditiously processed.
The delegation also requested that due to only one authorised EPR provided to the plastic manufacturers and entrepreneurs are facing harassment. The officers apprised the delegation that the guidelines have been changed and now the entrepreneurs are advised to follow the new guidelines. Gera listened all the issued patiently and responded in affirmative.
The delegation was comprised of president Rajesh Jain, vice president Balram Gupta, general secretary Virender Jain and treasurer L S Puri.
