Annual Shiv Parvati Mela from May 14

UDHAMPUR, May 9: The 3-day Moungri Annual Shiv Parvati Caves Shrine Mela is commencing from May 14, 2014, at Sar Dabber (Moungri) in Panchari block of district Udhampur. This was disclosed in a meeting held to   finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of mela under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Vikas Sharma here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC directed all concerned officers to ensure all arrangements pertaining to their respective departments well in advance and in an effective manner leaving no scope of any complaint from any quarter.
It was also decided that wrestling matches of school children would also be held for creating more interest in the game besides Youth Services and Sports Department will organize rural sports competitions at the venue. On the last day of the mela Indian Style Wrestling Association would hold Behmag Kersai Dangal.
The other issues like arrangements related to security, sanitation, healthcare, transport,   drinking water and power and ration supply were also finalized for smooth conduct of the Mela.
Among others, District Information Officer, Dr. Ashwani Hansa, Tehsildar HQ, S.S Chib, Tehsildar Settlement, Nath Suman (Mela Officer), Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council, Chalotra, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Sukhdev Singh,  Chairman Shiv-Parvati Caves Shrine, Advocate S.D. Kotwal, President Indian Style wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and senior officer of various departments were present on the occasion.
