JAMMU, Mar 25: Seeking release of their pending salary and highlighting other demands, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers held a protest demonstration before the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, here today.
Holding placards and banners, the protesting Anganwadi Workers raised slogans in support of their demands, which included increase in their salary, issuance of order declaring them as Government employees and promotions to them as per seniority list.
They also demanded setting up of grievance committees as per ICDS scheme and its implementation in true spirit.
The protest was organized under the banner of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association and addressed by Lakshman Ravinder Singh, Swarna Choudhary, Neelam Sharma, Ashu Choudhary, Karnail Chand, Harbans Choudhary, Naresh Bala, Chanchala Devi, Anjoo Devi, Soma Devi, Koushalya Devi, Chint Poorni, Santosh Devi and Persino Devi.
They urged the Government to concede all demands of the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.
