JAMMU, Nov 13: To meet the growing demand, Amway announced its first Greenfield manufacturing facility in the country with an investment of Rs 500 crore.
This was disclosed by GS Cheema, Regional Head North, Amway India during a press conference here today.
He said that direct selling industry in India is showing a healthy growth rate, which is in excess of 22 per cent. Amway India has also been growing simultaneously with the current turnover at Rs 2288 crore, adding up to over 20 per cent CAGR over a period of 5 years, he said, he added.
“Our focus over the years in improving consumer awareness and accessibility has paid off handsomely essential as the quality of the Amway pick-up centres have undergone a sea change and is more experimental for the consumers”, he maintained. Besides the world class quality product, enabling web orders coupled by regular TV campaigns have been major growth drivers for Amway, he said, adding that going by the market trend, they are aiming to touch 1 billion US dollar mark by 2020.
He informed that Amway has recently launched its new range of men’s grooming products under the brand Dynamite promising “power grooming for men”, comprising of a range of eight power products including an all new whitening cream with unique Lumiskin TM formulation, dynamite facewash with triactive TM complex, dynamite shaving foam, dynamite deodorant, etc.
Talking about the new launches, Cheema said that they have dedicated and positioned the year 2013 to as the “Year of Wellness and Beauty for the Amway Women”.
During the course of this year we had and will be focusing an internal and external beauty and wellness elements of women, he said, adding that the new products are the first range from health and beauty categories, dedicated to the discerning women consumers of Amway products.
