JAMMU, Sept 25: In view of anti-pensioners and anti-employees policies of the State Government, All J&K Pensioners’ Association held a meeting under the leadership of Mukand Lal Sharma to discuss the demands of the State pensioners and employees.
Speaking on the occasion general secretary of the Association, Madan Lal Abrol, said that the pensioners and employees have been struggling for the last three years in connection with their demand of implementation of 6th Pay Commission but unfortunately the State Government has shown no response till this time and at the same time it has enhanced the salary of the Legislators with three times hike and perks amounting to more than Rs 90,000 per month.
Moreover, the Government has enhanced the Medical Allowance of Legislators from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month but the same demand of the employees and pensioners has been ignored, he added.
The present State Government has given all priority for the welfare of MLAs and MLCs in allowing them Rs 10 lakh arrears in one installment with effect from September 2009 whereas the employees and pensioners have been pushed to get arrears claim in five annual installments, he said adding the attitude of the Government is highly painful and discrimination with said section of the society.
Abrol stressed upon the State Government to issue orders in line with Central Government, which yesterday approved 7 % hike in DA from July 2012 and one rank one pension for defence personnel. He strongly demanded increase in Medical Allowance for the State pensioners and employees.
