Ajay Nanda tours rural areas of Reasi, listens to public grievances

REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda today toured in rural areas of the Reasi and Katra and took stock of the public issues and ongoing development works.

The Minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Katra Neelam Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Development M.Y. Malik, Executive Engineers of PDD, Irrigation and R&B, BDO Katra and others.

During the tour, the Minister visited Village Serbar where motorable road was damaged due to heavy rains. He passed instructions to the concerned officers to lay crates, bunds and start other protection works to restore to the road and protect the residential houses.

The Minister also took stock of damage to road and land near Government Middle School Kandyar and passed instructions to the administration to start protection works to avoid any further loss to the area in general and school in particular.     

At Moori, the Minister dedicated upgraded power sub-station to the people for which he had provided Rs 5. 91 lakh out of his CDF for installing 63 KVA transformer. The sub-station has been upgraded to improve power scenario in the area, which was a long pending demand of the locals.  

On the way, the Minister met a number of public delegations who apprised him about their demands and other issues. The Minister issued   on spot instructions to the concerned officers for resolving the public issues on priority.

Interacting with the locals, the Minister said the government machinery is working with utmost zeal and dedication to serve the general public and meet any exigency due to rains, floods, snow fall etc.

The officers also assured the Minister that all requisite measures would be taken to expedite restoration works and assessment of damages in rain affected areas.
