JAMMU, Oct 6: To mark the celebration of 5137th Jayanti of Maharaja Agarsen, a grand function was organized by Aggarwal Sabha at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
A large number of the members of Aggarwal community including prominent citizens attended the function and paid tributes to Maharaja.
A colorful and hearth throbbing cultural programme was presented by the students and tiny tots. They mesmerized the audience with their songs and classical dances. The audience also lauded the spell bound performance of these budding artists.
The SSP Jammu, Atul Goel was the chief guest on the occasion. He also paid rich tributes to Maharaja Agarsen.
The Aggarwal Sabha office bearers including its president, Mahavir Prasad Aggarwal, senior vice president, Om Parkash Aggarwal, vice president, Hardeep Aggarwal, secretary, Krishan Gopal, treasurer, Naresh Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
The general secretary of the Sabha, Hardeep Aggarwal presented the annual report of the Sabha on the occasion. He also compered the programme with Dr Neerupama Aggarwal.
The duo highlighted the contribution of Maharaja Agarsen and significance of the day. They said the teachings of Maharaja are as relevant today as they were at his time and appealed the next generation to imbibe these teachings.
Later the meritorious students of Aggarwal Biradari were honoured by the Saba.
The celebrations started with Hawan and Puja which was followed by Puran Ahuti and aarti in which a large number of people participated.
