Adopt vibrant mechanism for carrying out development activities: Advisor Sharma

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Advisor to Governor K. K. Sharma today directed the officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Constructions Corporation (JKPCC) to work out a comprehensive and vibrant mechanism for carrying out developmental activities.
The Advisor was speaking at an Annual General Meeting of 52nd AGM of JKPCC here today.
Financial Commissioner Finance Arun Mehta, Commissioner Secretary PWD Khursheed Shah, MD JKPCC M Raju, CEs and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Advisor directed the officers to ensure timely completion of the various works being undertaken by the Corporation so that the cost escalation is arrested and works are completed within the stipulated time. He said that the Corporation should also ensure that the projects being undertaken by it adhere to approved Detailed Project Report(DPR) besides ensuring quality works.
While seeking brief about the progress of recently introduced e-tendering initiative, the Advisor asked the officers to explore further steps which will further smoothen the tendering process while maintaining transparency. He said that the step would ensure level playing field and will encourage competition which would also ensure the quality of works.
The Advisor also asked the officers to study the working of other similarly formulated executing agencies in other states so that these can be adopted for better functioning of the Corporation here. He said that the same would also ensure cost effective techniques and increasing the profitability of the Corporation.
The meeting also accepted the financial records of annual accounts of 2013-14 of JKPCC.
