JAMMU, Sept 15: More and more students are joining NCC and at present 27800 students are getting NCC training and 15000 are in waiting list.
This was stated by Major General R.K Sachdeva, Additional Director General (ADG) NCC after taking stock of arrangements at NCC Training Academy in Nagrota.
The ADG also said that in comparison to previous years, hundreds of youth are enrolling themselves for NCC training and they are getting benefits of NCC A, B and C certificates in recruitment as officers in Army, police and security forces.
“We are getting good response from female students from Kashmir valley and 40 per cent female students are getting NCC training at Mansabal Training Centre in Kashmir,” he maintained adding: “In overall 33 per cent female students are getting NCC training in UTs of J&K and Ladakh and we want to take it to 50 per cent.”
Sachdeva said more and more students are enrolling themselves because they are learning discipline in life along with other new things.
He said eight students from J&K have been selected as officers in Army Academy, five have been sent to foreign countries for further training and 350 to 400 youths are getting training for Agniveer.
The Additional Director General of NCC said very soon they will start two more NCC Training Academies in Kashmir and Ladakh as students from both these places are coming to NCC Training Academy at Nagrota.
