JAMMU, Nov 18: Stressing the crucial importance of basic training for new recruits in reshaping and enhancing professionalism, the Additional  Director General of Police Headquarters (ADGP), V. K. Singh today said that an ambitious plan has been chalked out for conducting various basic training courses in all police training institutions in the State.
Inaugurating the nine months Basic Recruitment Training Course (BRTC) for 843 new recruits at SPS Police Training School, Kathua he said that in view of prevailing situation the responsibilities of police have increased manifold and it has become necessary to impart quality training to the trainees. He stressed upon the staff members of institution that they have to play an import role in moulding the trainees towards the right direction while imparting quality training about day-to-day police functioning.
Addressing the darbar of trainees, Singh asked the trainees to devote themselves for the crucial training and prepare themselves for the service of the people and work for the integrity of the nation. He said that the people of the State have great expectations from the personnel in khaki and service of the society should be our priority.
He asked the jawans that after completing their basic training they would be deployed in different fields and they have to prove themselves public friendly besides exhibiting discipline and impartiality while delivering. He asked the trainees to learn basic policing so that they are able to deliver efficiently in the field as representatives of JKP and imbibe a spirit of public service as police has prime duty to provide security to the people, besides safeguarding their fundamental rights.
On the occasion, the ADGP instructed the Principal and his team to give proper care towards the welfare of trainees in the campus so that they may not face any inconvenience due to lack of basic facilities.
Among others, the darbar was also attended by Principal, SPS Kathua, Sanjeev Khajuria, SSP Kathua, Pawan Parihar, Asstt. Principal, Anil Mangotra, DySPs, Ramnish Kumar and Ashok Kumar Sharma, Sr. PO, Rohit Gupta and other staff members of Training School.
