Accused wanted in rape, attempt to murder case nabbed

JAMMU, June 19: Gandhi Nagar police arrested an accused, who was wanted in rape and attempt to murder case and was evading his arrest since long.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station conducted raid and apprehended an accused, who was involved in attempt to murder case and was at large since 2015.
The accused has been identified as Inderdeep Singh alias Joni, son of Avtar Singh of Chatha Farm, Satwari.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 219/15 under Sections 307, 376, 382, 366, 147, 148, 212 and 201 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act with Police Station Gandhi Nagar. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by City Judge Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
