Accused booked in MBBS scam

JAMMU, May 9: The Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir has registered a case against a man for duping aspirants in MBBS admissions.
Crime Branch sleuths booked one Amit Bhan, resident of Chandigarh, Punjab, commonly known as ‘Natwarlal’, who duped people of their money in the name of securing MBBS admission.
A written complaint was lodged by Mohammad Zubair, a resident of Kishtwar alleging that the accused allured him on the pretext of providing him admission in Batra College/Hospital Jammu and took Rs 17.50 lakh which the complainant paid.
The accused despite taking the huge amount neither arranged or provided the admission in the college nor refunded the money, he said.
The Crime Branch after investigation found that the accused deceitfully and misappropriated the amount thereby cheating the complainant solely in order to cause wrongful gains to himself and wrongful loss to the complainant.
The accused was booked under Sections 420 and 406 of RPC, said the police.
