JAMMU, May 9: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, Gujjar leader has urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to pass a bill in the coming Assembly session for continuance of the promotion of State Government employees belonging to Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste, Other Backward Classes and Resident of Backward Areas communities of State.
Poonchi said in order to keep them with Government employees belonging to above said communities; their reservation for promotions is an essential requirement and termed it as need of the hour and a necessity for Schedule Tribe.
He said for the promotion of the Government employees belonging to Schedule Tribe/Schedule Caste Community of J&K, the State Government did not show any interest, which has badly affected the economic progress of the weaker sections of the State.
