ACB charge sheets Patwari, 2 others

JAMMU, Oct 25: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has produced charge sheet against accused in-service public servant namely Zaffar Iqbal, then Patwari Halqa Degwar/Ajote, Poonch, Bashir Ahmed Khaki, then Naib Tehsildar Haveli Poonch (now retired) and Ali Mohd Degwar Maldialian before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Rajouri.
The case was registered on December 28, 2018 on the outcome of verification conducted by the Vigilance Organization (now ACB) into the allegations that Zaffer Iqbal issued ‘Fard Intikhab’ in respect of forest/State land to villagers who further sold the land to land grabber from Degwar to Ajote, Haveli.
During verification, relevant revenue record of Degwar, Maldialian and Ajote village of Tehsil Haveli district Poonch were scrutinized and it was found that Zaffer Iqbal illegally prepared mutations in violation of provisions enshrined in orders for the State land measuring 10 kanals falling and further attested by Bashir Ahmed Khaki in favour of (private beneficiary) Ali Mohd, who was not in continuing possession of land since 1957-58.
During investigation, the FSL expert who examined specimen/ admitted/questioned documents has further authenticated the entry & attestation of the mutations by the accused public servants (Revenue officers/officials).
After completing the investigation of case, sanction for launching of prosecution of the accused in-service public servant was also obtained from the competent authority and Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K produced charge sheet against them before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Rajouri.
The next date of hearing has been fixed on December 18, 2020.
