JAMMU, Apr 18: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu Mahanagar, has announced its “Mahanagar Sammelan”, calling it a decisive step to strengthen the student movement and organizational unity across the city.
ABVP asserted that the April 22 event will serve as a powerful platform to consolidate student voices, reinforce grassroots organizational strength, and chart a clear roadmap for future action.
Talking to media persons, here today, ABVP highlighted key issues troubling students, including the absence of a permanent campus for Cluster University, an acute shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, arbitrary fee hikes, and the ineffective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. It also raised concerns over the continued denial of student union elections, safety and empowerment of girl students, and the growing menace of drug abuse on campuses.
Sannak Shrivats, State Secretary, ABVP Jammu Kashmir, stated that the Sammelan reflects the collective resolve of students to fight injustice and safeguard their rights. He reiterated ABVP’s commitment to leading a disciplined and impactful movement to ensure accountability.
Raman Khajuria, Jammu Mahanagar Secretary, said the Sammelan will be a turning point in expanding outreach and strengthening unity. He warned that if genuine demands are ignored, ABVP will intensify its agitation with greater force.
ABVP urged students to participate in large numbers and make the Sammelan a strong expression of unity and determination.
