SRINAGAR, Apr 18: The Directorate of Census Operations, J&K and Ladakh today concluded a four-day training programme for Master Trainers for Census 2027 at the Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD) in Srinagar.

Director Census Operations and Chief Principal Census Officer Amit Sharma addressed the participants and highlighted the key role of Master Trainers in ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
He said the upcoming census will be conducted in a digital format, making proper training and technical understanding essential at all levels.
The training programme covered census concepts, definitions, training methodology for enumerators and supervisors, and House Listing Operations.
Sessions were also held on the use of digital tools, including mobile applications and the Census Management and Monitoring System portal, with hands-on training in installation, data entry, validation and troubleshooting.
Participants were sensitised about data privacy and security, and modules on self-enumeration were also included to promote citizen participation.
The programme featured practical exercises, field visits, role-play sessions and group activities.
Senior officers, including Joint Chief Principal Census Officer Arun Kumar and Deputy Chief Principal Census Officer Manmeet Singh Loomba, conducted sessions and guided participants.
Amit Sharma reiterated the commitment to maintaining high standards of training, data accuracy and operational efficiency for Census 2027.
