Srinagar, Dec 20: The Central University students Federation (CUSF) today said that the students are facing a tough time in the absence of a specific, permanent campus of the University.
The students said that numerous issues remain unresolved right from the establishment of the University besides specific issues that vary from department to department.
Addressing media persons here, Nadiya Rashid, President CUSF said that from the date when the varsity was established, it lacks a specific and permanent campus and that the students are suffering due to the lack of infrastructure at all the temporary campuses.
“From the date of establishment, University Campuses are changing due to various reasons such as lack of space in transit campuses, lack of facilities, and lack of student feasible environment despite Tulmullah Ganderbal being its permanent place for the establishment,” she said.
She said that the campuses which the University administration is offering to the students are not fit for learning due to various reasons.
Concerning the hostel facility, she said that there is a shortage of rooms in the hostel while the administration has also failed in ensuring the hygiene of the food offered there.
The students also rue the lack of a Central Library at the varsity and demanded that the University must grant them access to the national Central Libraries of different universities free of cost so that they are benefitted from the online resources.
“The other problems which the student community at CUK are facing are proper health care in every campus including that of compensation schemes for inevitable accidents,” the students said.
