KISHTWAR, July 14: Chatroo Police apprehended a former terrorist who had been absconding for the last 15 years, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Shafqat Hussain Batt said here.
SSP said that the arrested accused, identified as Ghulam Hassan, son of Lassa Chopan, a resident of Pahalgam Sigdi Tehsil Mughal Maidan District Kishtwar, was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 17/2006 under Sections 302 and 364 RPC and 4/25 IA Act registered at Police Station Chatroo.
Acting swiftly on information received, a special police team was constituted led by SHO Chatroo Inspector Sandeep Singh under supervision of DySP Headquarters Devinder Singh Bandral and raided the suspected locations and arrested the absconder.
Further investigation into the case is going on, SSP informed.
