RAMBAN, June 6: Police here arrested a man involved in a rape case and was evading arrest since the last seven years.
As per Police, the accused Ranjit Kumar, son of Shiv Shanker Ray, resident of Mahaisari in Bihar’s Samastipur district, presently at Kitasar in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, was arrested yesterday from Kitasar by a team of cops from Police Station Ramban led by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma, along with Selection Grade Constable Mohd Sadiq.
According to Police, the accused was wanted in FIR No. 101/2019 registered at Police Station Ramban under Sections 363, 376 and 343 of the IPC.
It was further stated that a warrant under Section 299 of BNSS, earlier Section 512 CrPC, had been issued against him by the Principal District and Sessions Court, Ramban.
The accused has been taken into custody and further legal proceedings were underway.
