4 OGWs of HM, JeM arrested

Srinagar, Apr 20: Security forces today arrested four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen in Kashmir and recovered incriminating material from their possession.
Two OGWs of Jaish-e-Mohammad were today arrested as they were planning attacks on the security forces in South Kashmir.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, told Excelsior that the duo was arrested on a specific information received by police in Shopian about their movement.
He said that they were planning to attack security force deployment. “A naka was immediately established near Wachi Petrol Pump. They tried to flee from the spot but police, Army and CRPF deployed at the spot overpowered both the suspects and detained them”, he said.
They have been identified as Uzair Ahmed Dar, 16, son of Mohammad Ashraf Dar of Wandina and Zahoor Ahmed Koka, 26, son of Ghulam Mohammad Koka of Meloura.
During their frisking a pistol was recovered from Uzair Dar and two grenades from possession of Zahoor Koka.
They were planning to attack security forces and told police that they were provided arms and ammunition by the JeM.
Police have registered a case (FIR no.27/2020 at police station Zainapora) and are investigating the case.
Police along with 2 RR of Army arrested two OGWs of HM during checking at Central Kashmir’s Beerwah Budgam.
They were arrested on the basis of credible inputs about their movement in the area. They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Wadwan Budgam and Farooq Ahmad Malla son of Ghulam Muhammad Malla of Hardu Mallpora Beerwah.
Police and Army intercepted them at a Check point at Malpura in Budgam today.
Police said that during checking, incriminating material have also been recovered from their possession. A case (under FIR number 92/2020 under relevant provisions of law) has been registered in Police Station Beerwah and further investigation has been started.
Sources said that these OGWs were providing logistic support to the militants who are trying to revive militancy in Budgam area. They added that it is a big setback to the militants in the area.
