GRP restores girl to Punjab family

UDHAMPUR, June 19: GRP Udhampur during routine patrolling at platform saw a girl, age about 17 years wandering in suspicious circumstances.
On this, GRP staff deployed at Railway Station, Udhampur swung into action and caught hold the girl. The GRP enquired about the girl and she disclosed her name as Siya, daughter of Madan Lal from Salarian, Tehsil Mukerian in district Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
SSP Railway Katra Ranjit Singh Samyal immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Surinder Singh Baloria SDPO Railways Udhampur to know the whereabouts and trace her parents within a shortest time. Then SHO GRP, Udhampur contacted telephonically to her parents and today handed over the said girl to them after completing legal formalities. The parents lauded the role of Railway Police for timely and swift action.
