JAMMU, June 17: A severely injured girl aged about 20 years was found on the streets of Jammu near Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu on June 9, by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu region.
With the help of police, the girl was immediately admitted in GMCH Jammu, where she is undergoing treatment for last 8 days and the Red Cross Society through volunteers is taking care of her. Medicines as well as surgical items are also being provided by Red Cross Society.
During day time, Red Cross officials and volunteers are taking care of her and at night a lady has been engaged to exclusively take care of her as she cannot move at her own. Doctors have planned for her surgery in 3-4 days for which the entire expenditure will be borne by the Red Cross Society.
According to girl, she hails from village Sonatola (in Mirzapara near Islampur), which is at 2 hours journey from Baharampur in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The younger of two sisters, her family also comprises her father Sakatulla, mother Esatul, and four brothers.
