POONCH, June 17: The police in association with 16 RR seized 25 kg poppy straw from two inter-state drug peddlers on Mughal Road today.
Official sources said that they were carrying the contraband in a truck bearing registration No. HR- 55W -9650 and were intercepted at Poshana on Mughal Road. Both drug peddlers were arrested.
They were identified as Mohd Zahid, son of Mohd Tahir and Mohd Shakeel son of Shah Din, both hailing from Sangroor in Punjab. A case FIR No.144/19 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Surankote.
Meanwhile, Surankote police recovered 4 grams of heroin during checking in the town and arrested two drug peddlers. They have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir from Buffliaz and Ashaq Khan son of Ahmed Khan from Buffliaz. A case FIR No. 143/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station, Surankote.
Meanwhile, District Police Poonch today detained four infamous drug peddlers namely Shakeel Ahmed son of Majid Ahmed, Shafaat Ali son of Mushtaq, Musharraf Parvaiz son of Kabir and Waseem Sakinder son of Mohd Sakinder who were involved in drug trafficking business under preventive sections. All the persons belongs to Mendhar.
