JAMMU, June 12: Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) and Diploma Engineers Association (DEA) has condemned the Administrative Department for issuing show cause notices to several engineers of PDD and demanded their immediate withdrawal.
A joint meeting of both the associations was held here today under the chairmanship of Harvrinder Singh, president JKEEGA and Jaipal Sharma, president DEA at Gladni Complex to discuss the autocratic attitude of the Administrative Department towards the engineers of PDD.
The Associations condemned the attitude of the Administrative Department for issuing ‘Show Cause Notices’ to several engineers of PDD mentioning slackness/dereliction toward their duties on mere feedback from residents of certain areas, that too without even conducting any preliminary enquiry.
Drawing the attention of the Commissioner Secretary PDD towards the existing highly deplorable and deteriorated power system, members of both the associations said that in such circumstances instead of recognizing and appreciating the tireless efforts of PDD Engineers in running the such vast power system with minimum available manpower at peak of Summer by providing support and services 24×7 round the clock, the summons issued by administrative department to different engineers at this time will lead to dispirit, dishearten and demoralize the enthusiasm of all engineers.
“The power infrastructure of the State has increased vastly over the past few years and especially after the implementation of schemes like APDRP, R-APDRP, Saubhagaya etc, however the department did not witness any reorganization for last many decades. Since the infrastructure has increased manifold so there is need for creation of new posts at all levels to maintain the ever increasing power infrastructure,” they asserted.
Both the associations appealed the Administrative Department to withdraw summons/show-cause notices recently being issued to Engineers otherwise they would be left with no other option but to come on roads to launch strong protest including mass leaves by all engineers and even snapping of power supply of whole state.
