Man shot at by rivals, injured

JAMMU, Feb 14: A man was shot at and attacked with sharp edged weapon over some old enmity in Gangyal here today.
As per police sources, a man identified as Gurnam Singh (28), son of Jodh Singh, a resident of Digiana Camp had some altercation with Vikramjeet Singh and Pankaj, both residents of Seora, Kunjwani and Sunny Charak of Babliana owing to some old enmity at Gangyal.
The miscreants opened fire at Gurnam Singh with country made pistol and also attacked him with sharp edged weapon.
After getting information, police team from Gangyal police station rushed to the spot and shifted the profusely bleeding injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The victim received gun-shots in his leg and arm and was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gangyal police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
However, the accused were at large when reports last were compiled.
