JAMMU, Jan 3: Demanding immediate release of their pending salaries under SSA, members of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum today held a massive protest demonstration near the Press Club here.
The protest was led by the Forum State president Vinod Sharma, State general secretary Najam Jafri, State vice president Younis Rahi and provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal.
A number of ReT teachers from different districts of the State, took part in the protest demonstration. The protesting ReT Teachers were holding the placards in their hands and shouting slogans in favour of their demands, particularly release of several months SSA salary.
While addressing the protesters, Vinod Sharma expressed strong resentment against the alleged callous and step motherly treatment of the Government towards the SSA teachers who are without salary for the last several months. He said that the Forum has projected this demand from bottom to top several times but the Government did nothing to resolve the issue of SSA salary.
State general secretary Najam Jafri also addressed the gathering and threatened to intensify the stir in near future if their 10 months pending salaries are not released at the earliest. The families of thousands of ReT Teachers under SSA are on the verge of starvation but the Government is sleeping over the issue, he lamented and hoped that the next Government. may solve this problem and streamline the SSA salary.
Others who spoke during the protest, included Sajad Malik, Sham Parkash, Sukhdev Singh, Gulzabir Daing, Sukesh Khajuria, Naresh Sharma, Lekh Raj Parihar, Manzoor Khan, Shabir Chowdhary, Balwan Singh, Mahesh Kumar, Pankaj Verma, Suresh Sharma, Ashok Seth, Manzoor Malik, Shahnawaz Hussain and Zakir Bhat.
