Sangam Theatre Group stages two plays

REASI, Oct 15: ‘Maa Main Haran Nachna’  and `Yahan Nari Puji Jati Hai’,  two  Plays in Dogri and Hindi, respectively, were staged by Sangam Theatre Group Reasi  at  General Zorawar Singh Memorial Government Degree College Reasi today.
The Plays were   directed by Shadab Khan  and assisted by Sachdev Singh under the expert direction by M  Akram Khan.
Hindi Play  `Yahan Nari Puji Jati Hai’  is based on the theme of women empowerment. The play also demonstrates that how females become a victim in such type of patriarchal society and how they are being tortured and snatched away their rights with no cause. Finally the act ends up giving a clear massage to those who become habitual of taking alcohol and become prey to this menace act. Artist played well and left the audience  mesmerizing.
“Maa Main Haran Nachna’,   Dogri play  is based on Dogri folk tales which depict that people are still victims of  `Tantrics’ who befool the people in this modern age also. The play was enriched with popular musical folk theatre  i.e. Harn, Kaarkan, Jatter, Deneras and Kud. The performances were most appreciated and well enjoyed by the audience.
The story of the play was conceived by renowned theatre personality M Akram Khan.
The artist who acted in different roles included  Sachdav Singh, Ajay Bhagat,  Bhavana Magotra, Diksha Kaluria, Sonam Rani, Sonali Sharma,  Anjali Anand, Vishali Devi, Rifat Yasmeen, Shivani Attri,  Anam Khan,  Rohit Kumar,  Manav Prashar, Sakshi Magotra, Deepti Kesar, Ruchika Sharma, Rajesh Singh,  Shivnandan Khajuria, Mohd Arif, Tarseem Kumar, Vishal Banathia, , Raja Aamir Khan, Sahil, Deepti Kesar, Ruchika Sharma,  and Vijay Kumar.
On the occasion, chief guest Dr  Koshal Samotra, Principal GZSDC Reasi, gave away  certificate to the participating  artists. National Awardee Teacher  Bodh Raj Meania was also honoured with the title of Son of The Soil.
