Indian Cultural Forum organizes musical evening of Urdu gazals

JAMMU, Oct 15: Indian Cultural Forum organized ‘Sham-e-Gazals’, a musical evening of Urdu gazals written by noted veteran Urdu poet Sham Talib.
In his welcome address Prof Lalit Magotra, advisor, Indian Cultural Forum said that such programmes give us immense pleasure when we observe that the listeners enjoy these programmes at great length. He emphasized that such programmes are to be conducted regularly.
Prominent singers of the State namely Virender Kapadia, Gursharan Kour, Apoorwa Jamwal, Manju Bala and Rahul Kumar presented the galzals in their melodious voices under the music directions of Sham Sajan, president of Indian Cultural Forum. Sham Sajan also presented a gazal. The singers were accompanied on guitar and mandolin by Sanjay Kumar Pashi and on tabla by Karan Malhotra.
Internationally renowned Urdu poet Prit Pal Singh ‘Betab’ presided over the programme and said that such programmes are necessary for the upliftment of music and literature.
Sham Sunder Anand Lehar, senior advocate, J&K High Court, who was the chief guest, in his address said that such programmes organized regularly will surely promote music and poetry.
In the end, Gyaneshwar Sharma presented vote of thanks, while as the programme was anchored by Raj Kumar Behrupia.
Among others present were Prof Rita Jitender, CM Seth, Narinder Bhasin, Chhatar Pal, Agni Shekher, CM Bakshi, Chander Dharmatt, Dr Dushyant, Dr Kewal Samnotra, Inderjeet Kesar, KK Shakir, Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan, Neeru Sharma, Nirmal Vinod, Puran Chander Sharma, Raaz Manawari and Mohan Singh.
