JAMMU, Arp 26: A cyber awareness programme was conducted by the Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), Jammu, at Sunjwan Military Station with the objective of sensitising troops of Tiger Division about emerging cyber threats and promoting safe digital practices.
During the programme, Ramnish Gupta, SSP CICE along with a team of officers including Monika Thakur, DySP, Inspector Kunal Jamwal, SI Pranav Dogra, and other officials, interacted with army personnel and conducted an informative session on cyber security.
A detailed and insightful presentation focusing on emerging cyber threats, including online financial frauds, phishing attacks, digital arrest scams, social media frauds, and hacking,the modus operandi adopted by cybercriminals in cases related to online gaming, online investment frauds, and instant loan applications were disscussed.
The participants were also sensitised about the Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in), emphasising the importance of reporting incidents within the ” golden hour ” to prevent financial losses and enable swift action.
To ensure wider dissemination of knowledge and maximise outreach, the session was live-streamed across all stations of the Tiger Division of Rising Star Corps, Western Command, Indian Army enabling a larger number of soldiers to benefit from the awareness programme. The awareness effort was acknowledged by the senior Military officers and soldiers of Tiger Division.
