Police foils 3 bovine smuggling bids, rescues 26 bovines

SAMBA, Apr 20: Launching drive against menace of illegal trafficking of bovine smuggling, District Police under the supervision of SP Samba, Anil Magotra, today foiled three separate bids of bovine smuggling and rescued a total of 26 bovines.
A police team headed by Sub-Inspector Ajay Singh, SHO Police Station Vijaypur on a specific tip-off intercepted a truck without number at Jakh and rescued 15 bovine animals being transported illegally towards Jammu. Though the driver of the vehicle fled leaving behind the vehicle, a case FIR No 51/2014 has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and the vehicle seized.
In another instance a police team of Police Station Vijaypur intercepted one Mashkoor Ahmed son of Altaf Din and resident of Tekri Pathshala (Kishtwar) at main chowk Vijaypur, who was found carrying five bovine animals by foot illegally. Accordingly, a case FIR No 52/2014 has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
Again a Mahindra Load carrier bearing Registration No JK02AQ-3421 was intercepted by a police team of Police Station Vijaypur at Ramgarh Road (Vijaypur) and rescued six bovine animals being transported illegally. The driver of the vehicle fled from the spot leaving the vehicle, which was seized by the police and a case FIR No 50/2014 registered at Police Station Vijaypur.
