JAMMU, Apr 8: The nine -day long Navratra festival culminated today with solemnization of hawans and immersion of Saakh in rivers in entire Jammu region.
There was heavy rush on Ranbir canal, river Tawi and river Chenab ghats from early in the morning with large number of devotees busy in immersing the Saakh in the waters and performing Pooja archana.
There was bee line of devotees including men, women and children on Tawi Ghat near Bikram Chowk while a heavy rush of devotees was seen on Ranbir Canal ghats as well as River Chenab at Akhnoor and other places where the devotees were busy in immersion of Saakh.
Besides heavy rush of devotees was seen in the city temples including Raghunath temple on the occasion Ramnavmi today. Large number of devotees thronged Bawe Wali Mata and other temples of City and other districts today to perform Pooja -archana on the occasion of Ramnavmi.
On the occasion of Ramnavmi hawans were also performed in various temples of the city and prashad was served to devotees after Puranhauti.
Meanwhile a Moorti Pratishta (installation) of Goddess Durga was held at Maha Kaleshwar temple Anuradha Puram Barnai today. A large number of devotees attended the function on the occasion.
Pushkara Swami Sewa Ashram Trust celebrated holy Navratra function at Najafgarh, Delhi in the full religious furore and gaiety.
For all the days bhajans and kirtan was held with number of devotes. Swami Kumarji Maharaj, chief patron of ashram gave religious discourse and explained the significance of Navratra functions. Flag was hoisted today at Ram Navami at Jammu ashram.
The saakh was immersed at Akhnoor which was taken in the form of religious procession. The Prasad was also distributed.
Spiritual atmosphere prevailed in the Swami Kumarji Maharaj Gita Sangat Ashram in the concluding ceremony of Navratra, on which a yoga was soleminized in honour of Mata Sudhdhartri. A large number of devotees from all parts of life participated on the occasion, among others were Vijay Bakaya, MLC, H L Chatta, M K Raina, Kashmiri Lal, Ashok Koul were present on the auspicious inaugural ceremony of newly constructed hall and yoga shalla in the ashram premises.
To inculcate moral and spiritual values among the masses, Bhagawaan Gopinathji Trust organized a nine-day long spiritual activity at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri, during auspicious Navratra festival. Thousands of devotees thronged the ashram during these days and it was gratifying to notice the devotees participating in the activities in the spirit of true devotion and humility. A huge gathering of devotees took part in recitation of about fifteen millions mantras during these auspicious days for propitiating the blessings of mother goddess and Bhagawaanji for well being of mankind.
Khema Astiti with regard to Navratra fasts was also organized and conducted today in which around 250 persons took part.
Another function was held at Sharda Bhawani Temple Poni Chak. A hawan was also performed there by the Sharda Bhawani Mandir Committee and the devotees were served with prashad.
A religious function was held at Roop Bhawani Temple, Sharda Colony Patoli Brahmana. On the occasion a hawan was performed and devotees were served prashad. Roshan Lal Bhat president DurgaNagar Welfare Committee was felicitated for his social services on the occasion.
