JAMMU, Apr 8: The Navratra Festival, organized by Swami Paul’s Meditation Home, Jammu, concluded today on Mahanavmi with Purnahuti of Maha Gayatri Yagna.
During the festival of nine days, apart from Gayatri Yagnas, the Dhyan sessions with Kirtan and devotional singing and discourses by the spiritual head of the Meditation Home, Swami Paul, were organized.
Large number of devotees from various parts participated in the festival.
In his discourses, Swami Paul highlighted the role of spiritual development and need of purity of thoughts and action for the attainment of spiritual goals. He said that the purity of thoughts and minds is attained by the practice of meditation. Meditation enables the stilling of thinking in mind and then man can concentrate on spirituality, he explained adding that this is the stage where the desires are vanished and Rama is achieved.
“Where there is Rama, there is no room for desires and where there is desire, there is no room for Rama. These two never co-exist like light and darkness, which are never together. This blissful condition is ultimate objective of life where one enjoys realization of the soul,” Swami Paul said.
“What is expected of true Bhakta is the intense love directed towards God. This leads to the purification of mind and changes in the basic human nature. Man attains the state where he is with God and whole universe is dear to him because  it all belongs to Him. This sincerity and total surrender by the Bhakta before the supreme is blessed with God’s grace and benevolence which reaches everywhere all over the universe. Love is true worship of God that does not bind the soul but effectively breaks all bondages,” he further said.
